-I understood Clark’s motivations for the first time. And Tom really conveyed them well…I could finally relate to him. And by that I mean, his desire and need to try and preserve his race. But he did it without resorting to bloodshed as both Oliver and Zod did. That was a VERY Superman-like approach. He’s had that very same conversation/conflict with Batman dozens of times. I could feel him trying to hold onto living remnants of a life and a people that he never knew.
-Chloe and Tess’s verbal dog fight was AWESOME. I hope that what Cassidy Freeman IS helps people realize what Kristin Kreuk was NOT.
-Waller, as evil as she is, has a legitimate concern. Her methods are awful but she’s right about metahuman/alien threats.
-Good to see Stuart again, and with a continuity wound, giving him an honest motivation for what he’s doing.
-Seeing some real destruction on Zod’s part.
-Zod, the Anakin Skywalkeresque pregnant wife/baby killing manipulative egotistical narcissistic genocidal tyrant. Now THAT’S a villain.
-The overall flow of the story was good; exciting, well paced, and most of all, followable by the audience.
-HOLY PIZZA THE RED QUEEN IS MARTHA KENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Tess’s Matrix style “bio rhythm” tracker *laugh*
-The destruction of WatchTower. I laughed, I was not sorry AT ALL to see overpowered and overimportant Chloe’s toys go to Purgatory.
-Oliver getting hurt. Kudos to him for having the stones to confront Zod, but he should be dead. Seeing him get the Mark of Zoddo burned into his chest made me feel nothing.
-Every biological and chemical process in the Smallville universe is instantaneous. Or fast acting. Tess can live and die, with no noticeable side effects, in minutes. And Chloe’s sure that it would all work.
-The Batman style rescue, complete with cape unfolding, blackness, and cool poses struck at the end. I.E., the producers texted each other and said, “WE’S BE’S GOTTIN’ TO HAVE TO SAVE MONEY ON DEM FANCY SPECIAL EFFEXES!!”
-Chloe doesn’t have aN override/failsafe for her own system?
She couldn’t think far enough to envision a scenario where she might have to get out?
She has THAT TYPE OF ID SYSTEM TO GET IN, AND NO VOICE RECOGNITION COMMAND AND CODES TO GET OUT???
-THERE’S A WINDOW THAT YOU COULD BREAK TO GET AIR YOU MORONS.
-Exactly how much Kryptonite does it take to incapacitate a Kryptonian?
-How did Zod knock the salami out of Oliver at super speed and he still got that arrow in his leg?
-Amanda Waller should also be DEAD. Or at least have multiple contusions and broken bones after BEING THROWN INTO A CAR AT SUPER SPEED. SHE SHOULDN’T JUST BE UP AND WALKING AROUND.
-Really don’t know how I feel about Chloe hesitating with Tess…I mean her character’s already tainted. Chloe is just as much of an egotistical/I have a better vision for the world person as Zod, Tess, and Waller.
Which makes me REALLY HOPE that there’s not a Dark Chloe story line coming up before it all ends.
-AbsoLUTELY NO MENTION OF KARA DURING THIS WHOLE ARC. That’s just ridiculous, especially considering all that she and Clark went through before this happened.
-Superman should have a sign over his Fortress of so-called “Solitude” that should read “YA’LL VILLAINS COME ON UP IN HEAH! LEARN ALL MY SECRETS!! HAVE CHURCH!! RAOLLELUJAH!!!
-THE RED QUEEN IS MARTHA!!!!
They gave away WAAAY too much in the trailer for next week.
-Clark’s still just a guest star on his own show.
-Clark can hear Lana anywhere in the world but he can’t find and follow Zod?
-And again, Clark’s impotence at flying, and him NOT EVEN TRYING TO DO SO is just aggravating beyond belief. Anyone in Clark’s position, after all that he’s lost and suffered would be CONSTANTLY trying to find the flight trigger…he didn’t do it when Lana was at stake, he didn’t do it with Lois and Chloe at stake, and NOW THE WORLD IS GONNA BURN AND HE JUST STANDS THERE???
Oh well, as Smallville goes, that was still a really good episode, and the first one IN A LONG TIME that I’d like to watch again.
