So I just read this article via ComicBook.com:
If that’s the case, it means the following.
It means that Caitlin’s been manipulating them since the Killer Frost episode. She had failed in her attempt to find a cure with her mother. She captured Julian outright to coerce him into removing her powers. Forcing Julian however didn’t work and Barry stopped her.
So now….she’s taking the sweet, kind “bring him in the fold” approach. It makes sense now that she’s been pushing so hard to get him accepted into Team Flash.
Her short term goal however, is to push him back into being Dr. Alchemy. Because if she can, then he can take away her powers. And maybe even her memories of having Killer Frost inside of her soul. Which is her long term goal.
So many intense and incredible things can come out of the storyline if this is indeed the case. The questions become:
- How much of her is Caitlin?
- How much of her is Killer Frost?
- What lengths will either persona go to to get rid of the other?
Killer Frost has been shown to be cold and heartless, but there’s some desperation in Caitlin too. It also means that she’s willing to play Julian like a fiddle and sacrifice him in order to get rid of her powers. That’s going to change the way we see her, and the way Team Flash sees her. All of the anger that comes out of her when Killer Frost surfaces? Is HER anger. It’s just that, as Caitlin, she’s more reticent to acknowledge it. But her desperation fuels a ruthlessness that we have yet to fully explore.
It’s just like the Hulk. For the longest time the Avengers believed that the Hulk and Banner were two different people. Hulk even talked about “puny Banner” in that way. But we came to find out that the Hulk is Bruce Banner’s childhood rage expressed, embodied and gamma powered. They are in fact, rooted in the same psyche.
If that’s the case here….our sweet Caity Cait is not as innocent as she portrays herself to be.
She does indeed blame Barry. Remember that the existence of Killer Frost in this new timeline is in fact Barry’s fault. And like a MORON, HE TOLD HER THAT. Original timeline Caitlin was not a metahuman. This Caitlin is. Thanks to Ooops-sorry-wrong-way-Allen. So she’s going to want Barry to pay a price for doing this to her.
Oh, I’m interested now.
